Sweep

All-in-one Mac care. Sweep finds space you can get back, tells you what is safe to remove and what is not, and uninstalls apps properly.

What it does

Twelve panes, one for each way a Mac fills up.

Space

System junk, large and old files, and duplicates — including perceptually similar photos, which you can switch off and have the numbers change with the screen.

Privacy

Browser traces, recent-item lists and the quieter caches, itemised rather than swept up behind a single progress bar.

Applications

Proper uninstalls that take the support files, agents and caches with them, plus an audit of startup items and the places unwanted software hides.

Maintenance

The housekeeping macOS schedules for 3am and never runs because your Mac is asleep — and only the tasks that still exist on your version of macOS.

The design rule

Sweep proposes; you dispose.

Nothing is ever removed that you did not tick. Every removal in the app funnels through a single function that checks each path against a veto list first — enforced at the point of removal rather than the point of discovery, so a bug in any one of the ten scanners cannot turn into a destroyed home directory.

Sweep will never remove anything in /System, /usr, /bin, /sbin or your Keychains, or any top-level folder of your home directory. Inside iCloud Drive it evicts local copies rather than deleting anything. Sixty-one adversarial path assertions run against that gate after any change to it.
